How this is calculated
We multiply your countertop area by a per-square-foot rate range for the selected material, which already includes fabrication and standard installation. Premium edge profiles (waterfall, ogee, bullnose) typically add 15–35% to fabrication cost, so we apply a 25% mid-point adjustment.
Typical cost ranges
Laminate remains the budget option at roughly $25–65 per sq ft installed. Quartz and granite, the two most common upgrade choices, generally run $40–150 per sq ft depending on slab quality, brand, and edge detail. Natural marble ($65–250) and quartzite ($70–200) sit at the top of the range due to material cost and more careful fabrication, and rare slabs such as Calacatta marble or exotic granite can cost more still.
What can change the price
Seams, cutouts for sinks and cooktops, and unusual slab colors or veining can push costs toward the top of the range. Getting quotes from 2–3 local fabricators after running this estimate is the best way to pin down a firmer number.
